Liposuction at CNOS
Liposuction is for body shaping and contouring stubborn areas of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. This procedure can reshape body contours where excess fat deposits create areas that are disproportionately large in an otherwise balanced figure. It is not a treatment for obesity or a substitute for proper diet and exercise.
It is also not an effective treatment for cellulite, the dimpled skin that typically appears on the thighs, hips and buttocks.
The Right Candidate for Liposuction
Women and men who have areas of excess fat that will not respond to diet and exercise and are within 10 pounds of their goal weight.
Liposuction is not for weight reduction or control. It is for body contouring. Once the fat is removed your figure will be improved, but the procedure will not keep you from gaining weight due to lack of exercise and an unhealthy diet.
Knowing What Comes Next
Liposuction involves a small incision and inserting a hollow tube called a cannula. Fluid is added to reduce bleeding and discomfort. Using the cannula excess fat is suctioned and collected in a canister where it is measured.
The surgery is done as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia.
